Cindy is right except for one thing. After resetting my Network Settings, mine started working right then and didn't need to be turned off for 30 seconds.

Thanks Cindy!

do what Cindy says it worked for me first time trying (10/27/2009)

cindy says:
October 19, 2009 at 9:16 am
I had the same issues, so, I called AT&T. What finally allowed it to work, was them having me go on my iphone to Settings, General, Reset, then, click on “Reset Network settings”. Your phone will then restart. Once it restarts, and is back to your initial home screen, turn it off for 30 seconds, then back on. MMS started working for me immediately after taking these steps.

if you get an exclamation mark and are unable to mms, contact AT&T and tell then to updated your imei in both of their systems. Since the update, their network reverted back to the original iphone info if you had one on your account. They need to update their system to reflect the new device.
