Today iPhone users in USA will finally get MMS! AT&T will issue a carrier update through iTunes 9.0.1. In this post I will show you how you can get the MMS update on your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS once it’s out.
This is not a firmware update, it’s a carrier update so you will be able to download and enable MMS quickly on your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS.
How to enable MMS through iTunes
1. Download iTunes 9.0.1 (if you don’t already have it).
2. Connect your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS to your computer and open iTunes.
3. Once the iPhone MMS update is available, you will see the following message on iTunes: “An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to install it now?“. Click “Update Settings“.
4. After you click “Update Settings“, iTunes will show the following message: “Your iPhone carrier settings were updated successfully“. Click “Ok“.
5. Reboot your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS. Hold down your power button until the Slide to Power off button appears, slide to power off. When your iPhone is off, press the power button to turn it on again.
You should now have MMS on your iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS!
Note: This won’t work on the iPhone 2G.

No need for 3.1. get the ipcc and upload it through shift+update (itunes)
im 3.0.1 and able to send mms from the day i got the update.
the drawback is that it doesnt reduce the size of image and send it as it is(more upload data = more money).otherwise its perfect..
I tried your tutorial on 3.0 or 3.0.1 and when I press command update it prompts me to upgrade to 3.1
What about if I have well 3.0.1 unlocked and jailbroken I don’t want to update at all

Will mms work for unlocked iphones?
I upgrade the firmware to 3.0.1 to be able to use MMS, i lost Cidya an right now i am unable to installed, i lost all my apps.
now i got to wait until quickpwn realease the new version for me to be able to install cydia. in the other hand as it is MMS is not working either.
i tried to jailbreak my iphone but it said the firmwell is not compactible what can i do please
