You apple downers are so stupid. Why are you on a mac website posting shit about how apple sucks…you know you want one. Best design ever for a phone. I don’t think even google can ever catch apples ideas. I know the droid is a fucking fail. My jailbroken iPhone already can play flash videos right off any website. I have it fully customized to run progs in the background like the pre. I cam hook my bluetooth keyboard to it and type in any app. This phone is capable of anything, once you free it from apples restrictions, which is y don’t have that many problems. They only want stuff that will let them stay in control. Their only badside. Fix: just jailbreak and enjoy. The mac tablet is going to be sick just as long as it’s as customizable as a jailbroken iPhone. So all you mac haters….shut the fuck up. We can’t help that your friends don’t know how to take care of their stuff…or that you can only afford a Dell.

Your comments about apple products are completely idiotic. All of you, its not a “cult” following. The products are superior in design and development. OSX makes windows look like total manure, simple as that. You guys need to wake up to reality.

Joe makes many good points. It’s interesting that Gates has said, in several venues, that he wants very much to succeed in the tablet department. Of note, according to eWeek, the tablet software is the *only* area where Vista improved over XP.

What I’ve noticed is that every person I know who has a tablet has found it not nearly as useful as they thought it would be. I’m not sure why, but even those who have put effort into learning a different interface (handwriting recognition, particularly), have found it wanting.

Paper and pen are still a very good interface for taking notes quickly in many situations, alas.

I *totally* agree about Apple’s design-to-fail. The lack of a user replaceable battery is an insult as well as a nuisance. I can’t wait for the Droid to take off and swamp them. And I’ve used Macs along with my Windoze machines for decades. They have not been any more user-friendly than the windoze world. In some respects, their business model depends on exploiting the irrational loyalists you describe. Not a way to compete on a large scale, but a good way to keep a lucrative niche going.

The tablet is already made. I know for sure because I have a friend working on it. They are trying to extend the battery life before it releases.

God bless you Joe. Do not support Microsoft OR Apple, they are both evil. Apple is worse though. Microsoft products are overpriced and poorly written (the software) as are Apple products, but Apple also lies outright about its products and has generated a cult following.
Mac is not just a terrible computer with bloated software, its a religion. Save your money and your soul Joe, don’t buy the Mac Tablet.

There is no commercial software I have ever used that I could not find a free equivalent for. Mac software is overpriced and poorly written, they get away with it because Mac users are so devout that they no longer see its obvious and unforgivable problems.
