Zune HD: Preorder available, shipping date and price confirmed

Last week the Zune HD price was leaked on Amazon. Microsoft has officially announced the Zune HD price and shipping date in their recent press release. The Zune HD will ship on September 15 and can be preordered from Amazon, or the Microsoft Store. You can also preorder from Walmart or BestBuy as well, but they don’t seem to have the preorder form available online.

Zune HD Preorder

You can only preorder the Zune HD in two colors: Black, and Platinum. The Black Zune HD is 16 GB and costs $219.99, while the Platinum Zune HD is 32 GB and costs $289.99. If you want a different color, I recommend you wait until September 15th. The Zune HD will also be available in blue, lime green, and red colors. On September 15th you’ll be able to choose the colors and also customize the designs on your Zune.

The Zune HD has an OLED screen, HD-compatible video, multi-touch navigation, and will eventually have games. It also costs less than the iPod Touch.

    omg… I’m so getting one.. I’ll leave my iPod at home when I go to school I’ll bring my Zune HD but I can’t wait for the new iPod touch :D

    Wait…. the Zune HD doesn’t have any apps yet…. It’s like the Palm Pre

    Its awesome and all but it doesn’t have any apps to back it up YET

    So just like wait…..

    I hate Microsoft but I will be getting one of this because of the FM Tuner and big HD screen, wouldn’t be cool to run iPhone OS on one of this things?

    and if u think its not possible u could do it because microsoft products are so sucseptible to viruses… u could make a virus and install tom the zune HD and have the virus install the jailbreak installer apps.

    I thought they (Microsoft) had already abandoned this unit in favor of the mobile phone market. So, there will never be any apps for the Zune unless you write them yourself :(
