Part 2: Install Winterboard

This is the second part. You will now be installing WinterBoard. WinterBoard is an application that allows you to customize the design of your iPhone and iPod Touch. It’s created by Saurik.

Cydia App

1. Tap the Cydia icon to launch Cydia.

2. Tap the Search icon on the bottom right and type in WinterBoard in the top search box.

3. Once you see WinterBoard in your search results, tap it.

4. Once you get to the WinterBoard package, tap the Install button on the top right.

5.  Tap the confirm button on the top right to confirm your install.

Winterboard - Reboot

6. Once WinterBoard is installed, you’ll need to tap the “Reboot Device” button to reboot your device.

7. Congratulations, WinterBoard is now installed on your device. You should see the following icon labelled WinterBoard on your device once it restarts.

    I´ve worked with the 6mik design for quite a while now and would like to know how to get my old version back. Can´t delete the pages icons and cant find the categories folder to undo all the folders. Help.

    Its says that you are supposed to move all the _shortcutx_x.app files but i cant find any. I only got an rar file when I downloaded.

    hi there, nice tutorial, but i think you mis calculated the amount of blank icons. I think there are 20 more blank icons needed.

    hi, i got the theme to work but a bunch of icons didnt change such as:
    1: big game icon, i put crash bandicoot and it just shows up as an icon no big icon
    2: youtube
    3: installous
    4: categories
    5: rock
    and a bunch others but i would like to know how i can fix them so that they go with the theme thanks

      another thing.. umm my dock doesnt look like the normal picture its like it has the whitoken icon form of calculator and contacts and the name goes like over the next icon… plz help as soon as you can thanks

      The same for me too, and dont use rock and hes probably trying to update it.

    i just want to say thank you very much for designing, instructing etc wherever credit is due, this is a great app!
    some problems i am having if you could please help me.. under each category folder home, media etc there is no background or wallpaper.. how do i get the ones from the theme? also for some icons they do not change to suit the theme such as crash bandikoot.. i tried to change the icons manually via ssh but to no avail (just looking for a totally clean interface).

    Is there a way to download this directly to your iPod w/o OpenSSH? Because I dont have Admin. Provileges on my computer so i cant install WinSCP.

    i have to agree to noexie.. i need 16 icons for each screens.. 4 * 16 = 64 blank icons.. 44 wont work in my case..

    but really nice tutorial and i hope i get the theme working ;)

    edit: ah, sorry.. i just saw that i filled the lowest row with blanc icons too.. and this is not necesarry.@moderator: u dont have to publish this post. thx!
