On Friday, Apple will be releasing the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard operating system. Users will be able to buy it from Apple.com or retail stores for $29.99 (single user license)/$49 (family pack). If you preorder Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard from today to Wednesday, it will arrive to you on Friday.

If you purchased a qualifying computer on or after June 8, you will be able to get the Snow Leopard update for $9.95 through Apple’s Up-to-Date program. All you need to do is go to Apple’s Mac OS X Snow Leopard Up-to-Date Program page, and read their terms and conditions to see if you qualify. This program will end on December 26, so if you recently purchaed a Mac you may want to take advantage of it now!
