iTunes 9.0: Blu-ray support, iPhone Apps management, and social networking

One of Boy Genius Report’s  “reliable source” has given them details on iTunes 9. According to the reliable source, iTunes 9 will include the following itunes-9features:

  1. Blu-ray support
  2. Apps management - You will be able to visually manage your apps and rearrange them in iTunes 9.0
  3. Social Networking – Integration with Twitter, Facebook, and Last.fm
  4. Permanent bricking of jailbroken iPhones – If you jailbreak your iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPhone 3GS it will be permanently bricked.

Of course, this is just a rumor and nothing has been confirmed. The only feature I would use in this list is the iPhone apps management feature. It would be nice to be able to rearrange my icons from my computer instead of manually doing it. There is no iTunes 9 release date, but it is expected to launch in September when the new iPod Touch third generation will be announced.

I’m not sure, but for the first time you syncronise your iPhone to iTunes, it says This information can be helpful, send to Apple, More information or cancel. Or something like that. And when you click More information, you can see some Cydia text in the log.. So I think, if some stupid person will “want” to help Apple for sending his Jailbreak log, Apple will know his iPhone os jailbreaked.

This is my opinion. Correct me if I’m wrong.

But i do not think they will brick your iPhone, the log is just for Apple so they know what their customers are up to. Then they can say: “omg jailbreak sux”

  3. Phantom Wraith says:

Jailbreaking is NOT ILLEGAL, amd Apple cannot legally brick jailbroken devices. If they would brick devices they would be surd so much they would be replacing all damaged units.

  4. Eduardo Vera says:

Maybe Apple won’t brick your jailbroken iphone, but they can make that itunes do not recognize it

I just did 23 iPhones today for friends and family members but mainly coworkers… Not one brick… All of them jailbroken… I did it for them so quit the scare tactic BS. works great. The more people say “that scared me” the more these idiots are gonna spread rumors :)
