iPhone 3.0.1 Jailbreak stuck on “Waiting for Reboot”

After looking through the comments on the iPhone 3.0.1 jailbreak and unlock post, it looks like many people appear to be having a problem where the redsn0w program is stuck on the “Waiting for Reboot” screen.

Here is a fix for this:

  • Unplug your USB quickly and then plug it back in. Your iPhone will reboot and the jailbreaking process will continue.

Thanks to dococ for the tip!

Which version of redsn0w did you guys use? I had the same issue with an iPhone 3G running 3.0.1 and redsn0w 0.8.

Solution is keep it in DFU mode, cancel redsn0w 0.8, open redsn0w 0.72 and go through the process, no need to go in DFU mode again.

It should work then. Any questions just hit me up.

Well i have followed all the steps but still after finishing my iphone start with the initial un-recognize sim condition :S. What do you mean by quickly unpluging, at what stage should i do it?

I tried everything above and in the comments to get past this “waiting to reboot” problem, and none of it worked…

Then i upgraded iTunes to version 8.2.1 (it was version 7 before) so that it would be iphone-compatible…

    And it’s just finished jailbreaking!!
