Jailbreak and unlock iPhone 3.0.1
Apple recently released the iPhone 3.0.1 update for iPhone users. This update was released to fix a SMS vulnerability that Charlie Miller and Collin Mulliner discovered in iPhone OS 3.0. If you have a jailbreak or unlock,
you will need to follow the below steps to keep it.
How to Jailbreak iPhone 3.0.1
1. After updating to iPhone 3.0.1 download and install iPhone 3.0 firmware.
Download iPhone firmware 3.0 (filename: iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw)
Download iPhone 3G firmware 3.0 (filename: iPhone1,2_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw)
Download iPhone 3GS firmware 3.0 (filename: iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw )
2. Download redsn0w.
3. Follow the guide at the Jailbreak iPhone 3.0.1 post. When you select the firmware, choose the 3.0 firmware instead of the 3.0.1 firmware. This is safe and it works!
Update: If your iPhone 3GS is stuck on “Waiting for reboot” unplug your USB cable and plug it back in.
Unlock iPhone 3.0.1
1. Follow the steps above to jailbreak your iPhone.
2. Once your iPhone is jailbroken, open Cydia.
3. Add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to your sources
4. Install ultrasn0w, and reboot!
5. Now your iPhone should be unlocked.

Ok, yo- All you gotta do is hook up to iTunes. Then do the home plus sleep button till logo appears. once appears, hold the home button and let go of the sleep. KEEP HOLDING. iTunes will pop up. If on mac, hold ALT and press restore to get custom firmware. On windows use SHIFT. Your welcome ladies ;)
Can you block data on a 3.1.2 ?
For the 3g folks who are using redsnow and are continually stalling out somewhere in the jailbreak process and are about to give up. Learn from my mistake, after 48hrs of trying to crack my phone. DOUBLE CHECK WHICH FIRMWARE YOU ARE USING FOR 3G (1,2 V3.0) IS THE CORRECT FW FOR 3G….NOT (1,1 V3.0) Which I’ve been trying to use with no luck. When I slowed to reread everything i caught this, retried it….and BAM! It’s done!

How do you unlock an iphone thats been used. I have T-Mobile how can I unlock it to use it…
Thanx for the jailbreak, easy to do once I did a lot of reading to make sure i completely understood the process. However I a stuck on unlocking my phone – cannot add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to sources – response was “Did not find Repository”. My iPhone is 3G 16GB on firmware 3.0. Would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

Hold the home button and the power on/off switch in for about 10-15 seconds and the apple logo will appear, then it restarts.
Andrea, you probably downloaded the wrong firmware, which version of iphone do you have? 3.0, 3.0.1, ??????

does this work with the 2g? I would like to use my t-mobile sim card in my 2g iphone. would this program work?
