iTunes: Trojan horse Small.BOG virus

Many Windows users using iTunes and AVG, one of the most popular anti-virus software were alerted of a Trojan horse Small.BOG virus today. There is a huge discussion thread on it in the Apple discussion forums.

Fortunately, you have nothing to worry about. There is no virus in iTunes. AVG has released a definitions update that should take care of this. Update your definitions through AVG and you won’t get this message anymore. Do not try to quarantine the files, this will break your iTunes 8.2.1 install and you will need to reinstall it.

Update: If you are getting the itunesminiplayer.dll failed to register Error then you need to reinstall iTunes!

a way to avoid these is getting a antivirus that is more secure. for instance getting a free antivirus is not good. i have tried alot of them and Avast and AVG could not find those 13 trojans i had plant on my Laptop. but then i got a AntiVirus called Kaspersky. it found em all and in seconds my pc was clean. the good thing is that it had alot of awards for its stablilty and found about 209 virus“s out of 210 in a test but that was last year, that is fixed. the bad thing is that u have to pay for the antivirus but that in mind i think its worth every penny for that anti virus.
