I have a 3G and it's in use quite a bit. If I have to make a phone call for 20 min or longer, the phone starts getting warm and after 30 - 45 min it's hotter than all hell, only thing I can thing of is cause of the lithium battery - this sux..

Don't need an imitation of the Sony problem!

I loved my iphone 3g and upgraded in July to the Iphone 3gs. It began consistently overheating about three weeks after I purchased it, and from there continuous problems to which ATT and Apple so far have been unable to rectify.

FYI, I have seemed to resolve my issue by pressing the power button and home button together for a few seconds. Before I was trying to press the power button, hold the power button and the same with the home button, but not both.

All the best!

I have had my iphone 3gs for a few weeks now and for some reason it worked very early in the AM, but now it wont come back on at all. Last time I check it had battery life... I connected the iphone to my computer (Windows 7) and it trys to install the drivers but fails (it worked before ever since I got the iphone), still nothing shows up on the iphone. I am hoping that it just needs to be chargde, but I have yet to find out. Anyone having the same issue?

I have had an apple 3gs for a bit over a week now, and have been loving it. Tonight, I put it in my Belkin FM transmitter thing - was obviously driving - and it told me that this was not compatible, which had happened before but it seemed to work well as a charger. At any rate, this time it turned the phone off, like properly off - won't come back on sort of off - and heated the whole thing up noticably. I can see the phone is cooked - plugged it into the computer and nothing. Pulled the sim card out - by this time it was heating up again - and nothing.
Time to visit apple.
