Firmware 2.2.1 Jailbreak

NOTE: This is an unofficial release

I just jailbroke my iPod Touch 1st Generation with the firmware 2.2.1 update thanks to Vortex, a Russian hacker for creating the bundles  for the firmware 2.2.1 update.  You can jailbreak firmware 2.2.1 for your iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch 1st Generation now.   A lot of people are anxiously awaiting this jailbreak but you must realize that it’s beta and it won’t be worth it jailbreaking yet.  iPhone 3G users, do not update to firmware 2.2.1 if you want to keep your unlock because firmware 2.2.1 will update your baseband permanently.  You will need to download custom firmware with an earlier baseband in order to use jailbreak.

    i followed the jailbreak process (2.2.1) and wen it was on reboot it got stuck on reboot screen i have tried it on both my iPhones both 16GB and did same thing any help ?

    Help plz !!! After I jailbroke the phone everything went good but now I can’t make no phone calls only recieve calls, when I try to make a call & open the phone app all it does is go back to the main menu. Can anybody help me plz ??? If yes email me at mackmittenz714@yahoo.com. Thanxs

    Okay guys…. i really know what you guys are going through, ive been there as well….. first just down load the latest version of QuickPWN 225-2(you could get it from the Dev-Team), then try downloading the firmware from this website. IN CASE IT DOES NOT WORK WITH THE FIRMWARE 2.2.1, WHEN ASKED IN THE PROCESS(QuickPWN) under browse, look for the fw 2.2 AND TRY IT WIT IT…… REMEMBER TO DO THE PROPER STEPS AFTER THE JAILBREAK DO THE apt.yellowsn0w.com FROM CYDIA UNDER SOURCES(Edit, then Add) Turn Location Services OFF FROM SETTINGS and reboot the phone the insert the simcard and turn on airplane MODE for a few seconds, then turn it back off….AND LET MINE KNOW ABOUT THE SITUATION

    i have download the QuickPwn and the firmware 2.2.1 for the iPod touch. but quickPwn says, that the firmware isn’t correct. what can I do?

    WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve got an unactivated iPhone 2g running 2.2.1. I can’t get it to go past the “new sim card” thing, this will probably get rid of that get rid of that. Thank u!

    Guess what JM, Jailbreaking is about getting the cool applications not 2 make phone calls. But yeah why? When I’m gonna jailbreak mine I’m just gonna download cydia and installer. Hey did u choose the unlock option?

    I have downloaded everything and get to step 2 where it creates its own firmware. But when i click for it to do it, it says right back to me that i dont have the right software. Please HELP…..

    I tried to jail break my 3g iphone 2.2.1 by the lst quickpwn and after that it completed the procedure my phone restarts and since then it just has the black background with quickpwn sign even i can not turn off my phone
    does any one know what should i do

    I just bought the 3g thru AT&T so I have a 2 year agreement.I just want to jailbreak NOT UNLOCK.the phone has 2.2.1 already on it if I jailbreak am I going to be able to still use my phone?I see slot of people saying about there phones not working after they do this or is that because there not thru AT&T any info helpfull

    ok how do u exactly jailbreak it i mean still, i have to because my friend lost her ipod. and the only way to track it down is to but the app from the app store but i dont have money on my itunes account. so i heard that if u jailbreak ur ipod touch then u could get all paid apps on the app store free. please help! email at chippy635@hotmail.com!!!! my friend is already in trouble with her parents and i want to help her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

    I extracted all the files and when i go to use quickpwn i keep getting an error message saying: “Quickpwn has encountered an error and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.” Any ideas

    quick pwn is not workin on my laptop i need help i got a 3g with 2.2.1 i had it unlocked and was workin fine and the next day it was off>>> well tha point is quickpwn is not detectin my 3g so i cant jailbreak it again>, any help guyz/>???.. please!!

    when i browsed for firmware and i opened the 2.2.1 firmware it said that the ipsw file i selected did not match any firmware quickpwn supported. Then it said “either the ipsw file is corrupted or the firmware version is unsupported. Why is this happening?

    for those who are having trouble getting their iphone to reboot after jailbreaking:

    i tried to jailbreak my first gen iphone and could not boot up the iphone after about a half hour of it getting stuck on the apple logo (or quickpwn logo). it would continuously restart itself, vibrate twice, and then hang up on the logo screen. however, after i booted up itunes with my iphone still conntected (and still hanging up) it seemed to push it through and the iphone booted up perfectly! try this cuz i kno i was super frustrated with it! thanks for the jailbreak quickpwn btw!!

    hey .. my firmware is 1.1.4…is it possible to upgrade it to 2.2.1 and how ? i tried quickpwn but it is saying that it does not support firmware below 2.0 …. PLEASE HELP

      @vahe: QuickPwn for Windows requires you to install the .NET framework. If you don’t have .NET framework installed then search for it and install it.

    Hi quickpwn i got an iphone 3g, but yesterday brother of mine accidentally updated through i tunes, and remain an emergency call ,
    I get to the steps with quickpwn but QuickPwn hangs with “Wait for your phone to connect in recovery mode…” in bold. It never moves down the list of

      @Adam: Try putting it in Recovery Mode/DFU mode and restoring the iPhone 2.2.1 firmware to your iPhone 3G.
