Firmware 2.2.1 Jailbreak
NOTE: This is an unofficial release
I just jailbroke my iPod Touch 1st Generation with the firmware 2.2.1 update thanks to Vortex, a Russian hacker for creating the bundles for the firmware 2.2.1 update. You can jailbreak firmware 2.2.1 for your iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPod Touch 1st Generation now. A lot of people are anxiously awaiting this jailbreak but you must realize that it’s beta and it won’t be worth it jailbreaking yet. iPhone 3G users, do not update to firmware 2.2.1 if you want to keep your unlock because firmware 2.2.1 will update your baseband permanently. You will need to download custom firmware with an earlier baseband in order to use jailbreak.

@adil haji: Search for the appropriate firmware on your computer. If you can’t find it then redownload it. The file has a .IPSW extension in the end.
hey, i have an question!, i have allready jailbreak my iphone and i want to update my phone and ofc i dont wanna lose all my apps, should i use this or not?
@Ajdin: It’s okay to update it but you will have to rejailbreak it. You can backup your current apps with iTunes and your jailbroken apps can be backed up with AptBackup (search for it in Cydia).

itunes opened automatically but i have no idea what to do from there! help me!
why when i click to download the firmware 2.2.1 it does not work help me plz
well, i have an ipod touch 2nd gen 2.2.1 will this work for it???
All you have to do is to download the framework 2.2.1 and click restore in itunes while holding the shift key… this way you get to select the version 2.2.1
After the restore is completed run QuickPwn, select again the 2.2.1 and follow instructions.
i have a different problem, i did what i just suggested and it worked for a few days but today it simply didn’t want to stay connected to the carrier… i reinstalled 2.2.1, jailbreak it again but still no network … it finds it if i search for it manually but when selected… “network not available anymore” …
Any suggestions?
I hope i fix it and if i do i’ll let you know how but till then please jump with some ideas pls.
