    Right.

Got a black iPhone 3G 16Gb on December 7th, and I’ve been trying all day to get the installer app on it.

I realized that it wasn’t working first because of the USB problem, so I attached a USB hub, and everything went smooth, go up to the ‘i haz gratz’ screen, and after 10 mins of a white screen, the iPhone rebooted, but there was no installer/cydia apps!

As a previous user said, which worked for them, I restored my iPhone, and started fresh, but it still hasn’t worked.

Anyone know why/ how to make it work/ anything at all?

    Adam.

Thanks Dev Team for great effort.

I think that there is a bug in the Ipod application with 2.2, after quickPwn my 2gen Iphone, the only thing that not works is in Ipod viewing a mp4 movie with the Tv cable. It stops after one minute. While in 2.1 i could see the same movie without problems.

someone got the same issue ???

    That?

i am posting the comment below which is a copy of a previous comment. i am experiencing the very same problem
I am having the same problem. My phone has never been jailbroken and I am trying to do it for the first time. I get to the point where it says “Quickpwn is about to to run on your iPhone 3G.” and it does nothing from there. Just before that starts iTunes launches, says waiting for iPod, and gives me this error: “An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the iPod, then try again. An unknown error has occurred (2001).” Then QuickPWN freezes.

    Log file looks good:

I have a 2.2 1st gen (non-3g) and a 16GB 3g version of the iphone. I used quickpwn 2.2 on both. Both were fine and everything went perfectly, but i have no service with the phones. I restored them both back to OEM and they are fine and have service.

    What gives mates??

    • QuickPWN says:

You need to wait until the iPhone Dev Team releases the latest QuickPWN software. QuickPWN doesn’t support the new firmware yet.

      • izzy says:

Any idea when that’s going to happened??
I just recently updated too and i having the same problem….thanks…..

  11. logan says:

can i git cyida and the installer for my ipod 2.2 touch??? and how

  12. anthony says:

so i saw this site and want to jailbreak my 3g phone. problem is i already updated to 2.2.1. is there any way to reverse upgrade the phone so i can jailbreak it back at the 2.1 series

    • QuickPWN says:

Try restoring your iPhoneback to firmware 2.2 through iTunes. Download firmware 2.2 from http://www.quickpwn.com/downloads if you don’t have it. Launch iTunes, press shift and click the restore button in iTunes. Select the 2.2 firmware and iTunes should restore it for you. If it doesn’t work check the forums at http://www.quickpwn.com/forums for help.

    • ALPHAdog says:

You can reverse the upgrade by downloading the 2.2 seperately firmware and installing in DFU mode with shift-click in iTunes (or option-click i think on a MAC) but the upgrade had a baseband upgrade so you will not be able to software unlock with yellowsn0w possibly permanently

  13. Helix66 says:

I have an old powerbook g4,does quickpwn work with 10.4.11??

  14. Dan says:

I have a new 16G iPhone 3G, which I bought sim-free. Was working fine with sims from several countries, until I (foolishly) updated the firmware today through iTunes. Now it doesn’t work anymore. When I turn it on I get the “connect to iTunes” screen. I have tried to use the Pwnage Tool – when I enter DFU mode iTunes give me an error “An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect etc…. An unknown error occurred (2001).

Quickpwn hangs when I enter DFU mode…

    What now?

    • stash says:

  17. Jordan says:

Got me an itouch 1st gen running 2.2 (5G77) firmware. Been trying to jailbreak it for weeks now. All goes well with quickpwn until the last part when the device reboots. Then I’m stuck with the apple logo on black screen. It never pushes through after that. I’ve checked various forums online and this seems to be a common problem. Sadly though, there aren’t any concrete solutions being offered. Maybe you could finally shed some light on this since you dudes are the official developers and propagators of this jailbreaking software. Thanks in advance!

PS: I’m doing this from a Windows XP os.
