Jailbreak iPod Touch 2.1
Jailbreak | Hans | September 12, 2008 at 5:32 amDo you want to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2.1? No problem, you can jailbreak it now! View this guide to learn how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2.1.
1. Before you do anything, make sure you have a jailbroken iPod Touch. SSH into your iPod Touch using and navigate to the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework folder. Find the MobileInstallation file, and download a copy of it to your desktop. You will need this file later in this guide.
2. Download iPod Touch 2.1 firmware file, and shift-click restore to install this firmware instead of updating to it.
3. Download the jailbreak for 2.1.
4. After uncompressing the folder, run the .exe, choose the iPod Touch, Browse for your iPod Touch 2.1 firmware file and then click the next button.
5. Installer and Cydia should be checked on this screen, so click next.
6. You should see a message on your screen that says “You are now ready to start the PWNAGE process on your device”, make sure your iPod Touch is connected via USB and click next.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions for putting your device in recovery mode.
8. You should see a message that says “The PWNAGE process appears to have completed successfully”. Wait for your iPod Touch to reboot.

apparently the ipod touch 2g cannot be jailbroken yet because of the new file type apple has used in the making of the ipod touch 2g firmware :S

i cant get quickpwn to work on my itouch it just epic fails at the unloading exploit bootloader
oKay, i know this a very old topic, but it seems to not be working for me, even after reviewing all of these past posts> Anyways, my problem is with QuickPwn, when i start it after extracting the file, it begins normal, I choose the Ipod touch option, then the file in the space where it lets you browse the file, right after that, when Ipress the butten to continue, and the screen to connect the iPod comes on, and error report screen pops up, and closes quickpwn, its been doing this continuously.
Any help is much appreciated,

Unfortunatly, It did not work. Whenever QuickPWN is counting down when your holding down the Home button for 30 seconds, It crashes at 21 seconds. Its really annoying.
is this for the itouch (2nd gen) i have version 2.1.1 and i’ve heard theres not a jailbreak for v2.1.1
