In my previous post I posted a jailbreak which required a lot of work. This jailbreak for iPod Touch 2.1 is completely GUI based. Just run the .exe after uncompressing the zip file and follow the on-screen instructions. It couldn’t get any simpler than this!

Jailbreaking gives you third party apps and is also considered a hack, you can get games for free, get fun tools, and have themes with different backgrounds and icons. It is worth it. i dont know how to get past the first step of jailbreaking :S it says there is nothing in my files
OMG it’s not working at all 2nd time too all I see is the pineapple come up how to I uninstall it? And how do i get it work for my iPhone 3G 2.2?

This is from the dev team regarding the iPod touch 2G. These are the guys who brought you the jailbreaks (ipod/iphones) so this is not good news for you 2G owners

If any1 has a error msg bout itunes needed to b connected, connect it to any usbdevice and leave it or connect to itunes and resync it then power down and it should work

SOLUTIONS FOR SOME PROBLEMS
Some people are having trouble locating the IPSW file in Windows Vista; here is the location:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
A number of people also seem to have QuickPwn HANG at the “Exploit Bootloader” screen of the jailbreak. I had this problem at least 5 times but finally solved it. If you are using a laptop with Windows Vista running and have plugged your USB cable into a USB HUB then connected that to the Laptop, the process will hang at the “Exploit Bootloader” screen. Plug the iPod cable directly to the laptop and go through the jailbreak and it should work.

i did have 1.1.2 then upgraded to 2.1 then jailbreak successs!
For the people that are completely lost..
1. Download Quickpwn
2. Download the Ipod IPSW file at: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/01/02/iphone-and-ipod-touch-firmware-software-22-direct-download-links/
3.plug in your IPod
4. choose the IPSW file you just downloaded when prompted
5.follow the on screen steps
6. restart your ipod
