In my previous post I posted a jailbreak which required a lot of work. This jailbreak for iPod Touch 2.1 is completely GUI based. Just run the .exe after uncompressing the zip file and follow the on-screen instructions. It couldn’t get any simpler than this! :)

Just successfully jailbroke my 1st gen iPod Touch running 2.1 firmware.
The IPSW files are located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
Or if you have an iPhone:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates.

SWEET. its jailbroken and i got installer and cydia on my ipod touch 2.1 first generation. all i needed was 2.1 5F137 firmware and the downloaded gui quickpwn. then i followed the steps, browsed for 2.1 5F137 firmware, followed the instructions(hold home for 10sec etc.), there werent any freezes for me. it just stopped at 20 and all i neede to do was wait and it finished by itself. went to get a drink and blam it was done
i need help, i successfully jailbroke my ipod but while i was downloading an app(crash bandicoot) using installer, it started installing as normally but then when i went to home screen, it went to apple logo screen when you first turn on the ipod. i waited about 10 min and then it turned off and back on(really quickly) and its still stuck on lgo screen. any help would be appreciated

is jailbreaking supposed to make your ipod really slow? or is there some kind of prob with my ipod. since whenever im updating/downloading apps from the app store, the downloading bar is full but it just says “waiting…” and it wont finish for like 5min. THEN just going into appstore(when im not downloading or anything) it takes a little more to load the screens then it did before i jailbroke. SO my question is is jailbreaking supposed to make your ipod really slow?

Ok Guys, I’m running vista and I’ve spent about a alp hour trying to find the thing it wants you to find when it says browse for the firmware bundle … HELP??????
my itouch is loaded with 2.1 5f137 firmware and it is a first gen. quickpwn recognizes its an itouch but when i pull up the firmware the circle rotates then stops and i cant continue. any suggestions?

umm i tried it and i have the iTouch 2.1.1 and itunes 8 and i clicked on the link and it counted down until it needed you to click START DOWNLOAD and then I clicked on it. Immediately after, it fond go to a page that says PAGE CANNOT BE FOUND

I got to the stage where it told me to browse for the firmware bundle, but I have checked in every folder and it isn’t anywhere….has anyone heard of this and can direct me where to go???
