I have had 3 failed attempts, I run through all the steps and I get a white screen for like 15 minutes and the phone shuts off.. I turn it back on and it is un-jailbroken.

I was told by an iPhone guru that if its not dev-team approved dont do it.. And the windows way (5,000,000) steps is causing problems and is sportaically working at best..

I have a 2G iphone it was already pwned with winpwn on 2.0.1.

I just connected it to itunes 8 and updated to 2.1 and the phone remained unblocked and jailbroken without any aditional steps.

I hope you find this useful.

Please. It's "Mac". Not "MAC".
It's a shortcut for Macintosh and not an acronym.
MAC is "Media Access Control" used in networks.

I have a 2nd iPOD Touch. I downloaded QuickPWN 2.1 and launched it. After clicked the window showing "connect the device", it stopped at the screen which had iPHone, ipod and iPhone 3g pictures and nothing happened. Does anyone have the same situation? or What should I do to continue the process?

I'm on 2.0.1 right now, upgraded from 1.1.4 to 2.0.1 using winpwn. I want to upgrade to 2.1 now using quickpwn (on my mac). What do I need to do? I can't find instructions for my case.

Do I need to first upgrade iTunes to 8, update the fw through iTunes, then use quickpwn?

I have a 3G, v2.1, QuickPwn'd it in under 20 min. I LOVED it. Buuut, after a day of playing, adding themes, apps (like cycorder) and stuff, it froze. I mean it REALLY froze, I couldn't do anything but go back to the original Apple firmware. But it is nice to know that this process is so easy that once they get the bugs out I can Pwn it, have a bad-ass phone and not worry if I'll mess something up, because I can always plug it right back into itunes and hit 'Restore'...

Anonymous
September 14, 2008 at 11:12 AM

QuickPWN doesn't work with iPod Touch 2nd Gen! Only first gen. It says on the dev-team blog that they haven't made it compatible yet, because no one on the dev-team has one yet...

"Does this let you put apps on your ipod touch for free instead of paying for em in the lame app shop???"

The idea isn't to commit theft, just to allow 3rd party apps. If you don't want to pay for apps, make them yourself, selfish idiot.

September 28, 2008 at 12:45 AM

ahh.. and for anyone, who´s "new" to it .. no iPhone3G unlock since now (as common known..)
..and.. there is NO way since now to get a iPod touch 2G jailbroken..
Why ?? because no one DID it that far !!

CHECK your Equipment (Version, FW), before any attempts of unlockin´, jailbreakin´ or activating..
I do also underline the post, that jailbreakin´ is NOT meant to "steal" software, for it´s just a method to give "3rd party apps" a chance, where apple denies "support"...
For anyone searchin´for a "cheap" way to get this kind of software : get the f... out !!

Ok I have a iphone 3G with 2.1. I downloaded QuickPwn and ran it, it got to teh point where it says the software has been installed and the iPhone is rebooting, but all it does is reboot, display teh apple logo, vibrate, shut off then reboot to teh apple logo, vibrate and it just goes over and over like this...anyone know what it is doing?

Anonymous
October 16, 2008 at 12:57 AM

yes mine was like that too. the reason is because its bugged.

you probably downloaded the wrong version of quickpwn.

To fix this you got to put your iphone on DUF mode and connect to pc and restore using 2.0.1 software update.

there are videos on youtube telling u how to de-bug your iphone.

I had my 2.1 firmware jail broken and set how I wanted it then installed a buggy copy of springboard, which crashed my phone so I had to restore to stock fw which I was having trouble jail breaking again even after several methods. This release worked like a charm plug in,wait a minute, put into DFU mode, wait a minute and your done. Thank you quickpwn!

AHH!!! Please help!

I tried to jailbreak my iPhone 3G v2.2 with quickPWN and everything seemed to work fine. The runnning pineapple logo appeared and it said it had completed on my phone and on my computer.

However, it will not load past the apple bootup screen. It just flashes a white screen every couple minutes and vibrates every couple minutes.

When I try to connect my phone to iTunes to do a factory restore it will not even recognize my phone in the sidebar in iTunes and does not give me the option to restore. However, Windows does recognize that the phone is plugged in.

Someone please help me. I don't know what to do. I have tried to restore it on two computers now.

To get it out of the apple "stuck" mode, I tried getting the phone in DFU mode again while in boot screen, once you see the itunes and cable sign on your screen then you can plug it into itunes to restore. It took me a few tries to get the right timing of holding the buttons on the ipod to get it into DFU.
