Jailbreak iPhone 2.1 GUI Version
Jailbreak | Hans | September 19, 2008 at 1:03 pm
Finally, a Windows jailbreak has been released. This allows you to jailbreak firmware 2.1 on your iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPod Touch. Just use this simple solution to jailbreak to the new 2.1 firmware.
Why should you upgrade to firmware 2.1? This software has faster backup, faster application downloading/installing, it fixes lagging problems with 3rd party apps, quicker contacts management, genius list playlist creation, and some more features that make it worth the upgrade. Download this software and jailbreak away!

Has anyone try this on 1G iphone with 1.1.4 firmware using iTunes 8.1.1?
Apple seemed to have released an update to their Apple Mobile Device driver and I’m afraid this may not work anymore.
My AMDS version is 2.11.32.0 dated 10/1/2008
Whew!!! I have had major problems jailbreaking 2.1
I found that the best thing to do at the advice of those comments above (thanks!) when you are stuck with the pine(apple) is to disconnect the plug, start iTunes, and plug back in. It may take a few times but all of a sudden it was working!!!!!
Thanks to all!!!
Thank you. It worked for 1st Gen iphone 8GB with 1.1.4 firmware using iTunes 8.1.1?
Just want to let folks know the following, though.
Because I had heavily modified my phone while happily using 1.1.4 for many months, iTunes 8 could not successfully backup my phone. I did have backups from previous firmwares though. One of the key issues were caused by BossTool 0.35 that moved files around to give you more space in Application partition. Although I undid all the changes, the backup during firmware upgrade still failed.
A neat trick I discovered. When the iTunes backup fails, before dismissing the error message, check your Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer folder for backup files. I made a copy of it before dismissing the error message to save most of what I needed.
Second thing that caused panic on was the bootloaders. I didn’t know you had to download those separately if you wanted to unlock you phone.
Third thing. I only unlocked because I want to activate my phone but unlike ziphone, quickpwn didn’t have an option to just activate.
Just my $.02 and huge thanks to the dev team.
finally got round to doing this jailbroke fine however – i clicked the unlock option as im using the 2g iphone 16gb and it says on the bootloader screen “unlock on” along with soem other stuff thats on. I insert my Orange sim (UK) and it doesnt work. Any help?
Hi, has anyone a clue why I cant get my telephone network connection going on. I got the 3G, jailed it with winpwn 2.5 first and then with quickpwn, everything works but the telephone connection, sometimes I get a network for a minute or so, but generally theres no telephone network available.
If u have any clue, just write back please to chrisloos83@gmail.com
I can’t seem to get my Iphone 3g into DFU mode. I have tried the hold for ten seconds thing but all I get is a screen with a sync cable and itunes sign on it. I really want to jailbreak my ipod can some one please email me a tutorial?

HELP! Im stuck unlocking my phone in the screen where you browse to the ipsw file. I have copied it into the folder but the software does not see or let me select it. does this have something to do with the file type or extension?
Hi, I jailbroke my IPhone 3G with Winpwn 2.5 Beta and then with Quickpwn 2.1 with the new firmware 2.1 and simunlocked it with ur Gevey-3G card. Everything works fine, but somehow I do not get any telephone network going on? Do u have any Idea what the problem might be?

Hey all,
If you open Itunes before running Quickpwn (assuming you have the right firmware etc), it’ll work like a charm.
Took me several goes before I realised this :).
nice nice nice its wery nice
does this have to be done on the computer that the iphone is synced to? i am trying to do this for a friend on my own computer, is it ok?
Please can somebody help me. I restored my iphone through itunes, then went onto ZiPhone GUI v3.0 and pressed the “do it all” button, and its been stuck in “rebooting phone in recovery mode” now for about 6hours! Im not very tech minded, so if anyone can help me in simple terms id be so grateful, im scared that ive just broken and wasted a £500 pohone – I could cry. Oh and its the first generation iphone. Many thanks.
my iphone 3g is jailbroken but i can’t get in the itunes! how can it be? it only says “THE SIM CARD INSERTED IN THIS IPHONE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE SUPPORTED” i’m here in UAE and i’m using a some kind of “gevey 3g” simcard attachment to make the iphone unlocked and also a signal booster. please help me on this…email me thru jefjamon@yahoo.com tnx
works fine!!!
I’ve only got one problem. I can’t save new contacts, or change old ones… Can someone help me on this one?
thx!
I am Jailbreaking a 16 gig 2.1 1st gen but it is taking forever to upload the exploit toolbar any one have tips
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
I have no service on a 3G iPhone. I followed the instructions step by step to the letter. I am using Vista, QuickPwn 2.1 and iTunes 8.0.
When I use the IPSW file to restore the phone, it goes to the USB port/ITunes picture on the phone and only allows emergency calls. No signal.
When I use QuickPwn, it jailbreaks the phone, but no signal.
When I use iTunes to restore the phone, I still get no signal anymore.
Please … can somebody give me some help? I just want to get my phone working again, even if it is not jailbroken. If I can do it myself, I will. If not, I will pay.

Vista Users getting the hang on “waiting for phone to enter recovery mode.” check to make sure that you do not have compatibility enabled and that you are running as administrator. This fixed my hang.
Can Someone please tell me what is the difference between this post and the Sept 12th post? They both say 2.1 jailbreak ipod touch so what’s the difference? Can someone please answer this question?
The other one won’t work, so just use this latest one!
Well, the other one worked also, because someone recommended it to me, it’s just very slow and installer is absolutely horrible. Also a lot of apps crashed and when I restarted my ipod my winterboard theme was gone. Can Someone please tell me what is the difference between this post and the Sept 12th post? They both say 2.1 jailbreak ipod touch so what’s the difference? Can someone please answer this question? Like is this post and the Sept 12th post the same, except this is a newer version?
