iPhone 2.2 firmware released
Today the beta iPhone 2.2 firmware has been released to developers. According to Macrumors the new version is labeled as iPhone OS 2.2 beta 1 and also has a beta iPhone SDK build 9M2611. iPhone Developers are not allowed to leak the new features to other people but one of the developers has leaked one of the new features. The Safari interface has been tweaked around a bit. The new version of Safari has a magnifying glass and refresh buttons at the top of the screen. A refresh icon has also been added in the URL bar. See the screenshot of the new Safari below. It will be some time until iPhone firmware 2.2 download is released to the public. I am pretty sure that the iPhone 2.2 jailbreak will come out very quickly as well! The iPod Touch 2G is not jailbreakable at the moment, the Dev Team is working on it. Hopefully they come out with a solution for it soon.

To all those who know something , can you tell me any news about the ipod touch 2G jailbreak ,if there’s ANY new step made keep us up to date xD thank you very much
whenever I try to JB my itouch 2g in quickpwn, quickpwn doesnt even realize my itouch is plugged in, therefor it is not an option.
and when I try to use pwnage tool, it says i have the wrong firmware bundle selected. My friend just jb his iphone and id really like to jb my itouch 2g can someone walk me through it, perhaps upto date links?
this really needs to come out! it will be epic. so many people are waiting on it!
Dev Team…please…just either tell us if you plan on releasing it…tell us when your gonna plan on doing it, or at least say like: ok guys…we can’t figure it out, but we are still trying.

They are working pretty hard. On their website they have jailbreaked it but it’s not very useful since you need to do the system patch every time the system boots. Seems like they will have it within a week. I can wait.
I can see that everyone is asking the same freaking question: WHEN CAN I JAILBREAK MY IPOD TOUCH 2g? And the answers are the same.
So cant we just get a correct answer: Are u working on it, or are u just focusing on iphone 3g?
Well i have been waiting for sometime now for it to be jb and there are a lot of people out there trying to jb it you guys just got to give them time. If you still got 2.2 dont download or install 2.2.1 it will take them longer to get that one so all i pod touch uses stay with 2.2 and you will jb it fast i got a ipod touch 2g 2.2 and waiting for the jb to happen sometime soon. I don’t know if this is the right place to post. I just got my iphone and accidentally upgraded to 2.2.1. It was written above to do a restore but I could not find it so I did it like it was written on the video. Now, I keep reconnecting to itune telling me that I have the wrong sim and it will not let me downgrade. Please help!
