Thanks a lot for the QuickPWN download! I was waiting for WinPWN 2.5 from cmw, but he never released it. WinPWN is so slow and unreliable, and very buggy. QuickPWN worked fine for me and it's great. It was nice of poorlad and iPhone-Dev to release this. :)

It doesn't work with iPod Touch 2.0.2. The main window open with Hashing IPSW and then quickly close...

I've used it on my iPhone (not 3G version) with 2.0.2 firmware.
It worked great except that my iPhone doens't reconize my provider (mobistar) in Belgium.
Is this common or just me? :p

Anonymous

When I try to do it with 2.0.2 the main window closes within a few seconds...

how can i do this using a macintosh computer

Anonymous
August 24, 2008 at 11:53 AM

WORKS FOR 2.0.2 TOUCH.
but you lose all ur previous installed apps.
Upgrade through itunes to 2.0.2 then use quickpwn but select the
2.0.1 firmware when pwn. then tada itunes says its 2.0.2 and its jailbroken. Hope this helps

Hi there, I just want to know if this works with 1.1.4 Iphone, I have the installer and all for that version. However, my concern is that every one is talking about having the 2.0.1 or 2.0.0 already on it.
Please help.

Anonymous
August 27, 2008 at 1:37 AM

many thanks - this worked fine with my 2.0.1 iPhone (1.Gen): sync via iTunes, update via iTunes to 2.0.2, start quickpwn and mark the 2.0.2 image, let it go following the instructions on the DOS screen - 10 minutes to lastest iPhone heaven :-)

OK, To all of you asking about how to upload or find the IPSW file. That file is downloaded into your Document or users directory by iTunes when you accept the download of a new iPhone firmware.

Please search your drive for the file. It's there!

What version of Quickpwn is on the main page? No version listed.

Anyway I tried 2.0.2 firmware, it worked, but I have "No Service". Going to try with 2.0.1 now.

Anonymous

Have a small problem.... All of my .ipsw files on my computer are all listed as recovery versions. Will this make a difference in the grand scheme of things?

Anonymous
September 3, 2008 at 10:57 AM

Obviously it does. QuickPWN gets to the commandline output and crashes within 10 seconds using a restore version of the .ipsw files on M$ Vi$ta.

Is is possible to manually download a clean and pristine version of the .ipsw file we need?

If so, where?

paste that into internet explorer and it will download a clean 2.0.2 ipsw directly from apple's servers. That is how i got it for free

C:\Users\Jake\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

or you could also go to this directory on your computer, it is where itunes saves the software upgrades that it downloads. You might have to show hidden folder to get to it though.

I have no problem using QuickPwn RC3 to jailbreak 2.0.2. The process was smooth. The only problem is after the installation, I downlaoded a few free apps from the App Store. The installations again were smooth. But when i open the apps, they will show probably the first screen of the app. Then in about 3-5 seconds, the app will close automatically. Anyone can help?

same problem, it works for me if i install apps through itunes and then sync them to the touch

Anonymous
September 8, 2008 at 9:23 AM

Everytime i try to jailbreak my ipod touch it fails... i get to the screen where it says "wait for your ipod to connect in recovery mode" my ipod restarts and the itunes logo comes up but quickpwn doesn't realize that this has happened so this instructions don't change.

So i've tried to restart the program and when i do it the instructions instantly change but at the end of following the instructions it says the ipod started in the wrong state and i didn't follow the instructions or a bad usb connection is there. i don't see how this could happen i know i follow the directions properly anyone experience similar problems?

I did it anyway, and I'm very happy about it. I first updated to iTunes 8, downloaded (and downloaded only) the 2.1 firmware. After that I RESTORED and configured it as a new device. Than I closed iTunes 8, QuickPWN'd with the latest release on quickpwn.com, updated Cydia to the latest version, and all my favorite apps (except for Categories) just work fine.

I have an Itouch 16GB firmware 2.1, and I'm trying to Jailbreak it (v2.1).

I'm using Quickpwn (modified morphey version), and every guide I've read or watched on YouTube seems easy enough, but my Ipod isn't playing.

I have synced it with iTunes, opened Quickpwn, select the Itouch figure, select my firmware (both of which give me the green tick), then choose Cylia & installer.

The next screen should go through the steps of button presses to jailbreak, but mine gets stuck on the 1st step "wait for your ipod to connect in recovery mode". The thing is, it does connect in recovery mode (usb lead & the CD pic), but Quickpwn does not move onto step 2, it just hangs............

I then need to recover the iPod to get it working again.

I've got a question:
I have got an IPhone (first generation). I jailbreaked it on my Windows-Computer. It works with iTunes 7. Yesterday (Christmas) i got a new MacBook =). But if I want the IPhone to work on the MacBook I have to do a new jailbreak, right? But where shall I do the jailbreak? On the Windows-Computer or on the MacBook? Is there anything I have to be careful about?
By the way, sorry for my English! I am 14 and from Germany :S
I would be grateful if anyone could help me.

Anonymous
January 20, 2009 at 5:04 PM

Someone from the dev team (musclenerd) released a demo video of the first itouch 2nd Generation jailbreak on Qik. The demo shows how a patch called redsn0w is used to eliminate jailbreak detection on the itouch 2g which it does and is very successful (by now this demo video is all over the net). The only problem is as soon as the itouch is removed from the computer it realises that it is jailbroken and shuts down. The person in the video says they are currently working on a user friendly program that will do the highly complicated work that they are doing for you and will also be able to be removed from the computer. He also says that they will not release an ETA (release date) because when they did for yellowsn0w it crowded the servers on the last day of last year therefore we will just have to wait. So any release dates you see on the net are fake just keep checking the net for a redsn0w download each day (BTW yellowsn0w was released 9 days after its demo video was released).

February 14, 2009 at 7:23 AM

can you not install the installer?, just run quickpwn and reinstall for back up, poof will be wiped of so it wont have control over hiding any apps.to get poof you need to jailbreak and install cydia and installer, or iether one. then find a repo list online and install some repos. you shouldnt nedd to do the repo bit as both 3rd party installers have already all the main repos installed in them. the will go online and download all that is needed..

There is an unlock for iPhone 3G.To unlock an iPhone the remote unlock service would be a better option because, you need not give your mobile to someone else nor do you have any chance to enter the wrong unlock codes. To get such an unlocking service for your iPhone 3G approach Mobileunlocksolutions.com and by submitting the country and network to which the mobile is locked to you will be able to remove the restriction from the respective network. This will be a permanent unlocking solution.
